McMonty or McDreamy?

Who's going to be delivering Ms. Caitlyn?

Is it McMonty or McDreamy?

Mummy would have preferred McDreamy, but guess she will have to settle for McMonty at Zhong Shan Hospital.

McMonty is the OB-GYN at Zhong Shan Hospital. He comes highly recommended by many of his past patients.

Sign of good things to come?

It was a balmy afternoon and I was on my way to the bus-stop after my pre-natal yoga class, a "raindrop" missed my face by about 2milimeters and landed up at the bottom of my yoga pants and on the side of my left shoe. Upon further inspection, it looked more like bird's poop and it wasn't raining...So yes, I got pooped on!

Must be a sign of good things to come. The last time i got pooped on was in 1994 while i was sitting for a chemistry examination, and I got a pretty good grade. So anyhow, this time round, a good thing would be Caitlyn's arrival which we are excited about.

With a few weeks left to the due date, we'll sit tight and wait for the day she's ready to meet the world! :)

Making cents or sense?

Yesterday, we went for my regular check-up and Dr. Monty Li mentioned that 70% of babies are delivered between 37 weeks - 40 weeks, with the remaining 30% of babies opting for a late check-out.

As of May 8th, I was 35 weeks and 1 day pregnant which means it's possible that Caitlyn might decide to pop early before her 11th June EDD which could be anytime from 2 weeks onwards. That's soon! Also, check-ups will now be weekly now that it's close to the due date.

I decided to go on a buying spree after the doctor's appointment yesterday. Armed with my excel spreadsheet of items to buy, I went to the baby store and got most of the essentials. Comments from the husband who was patiently waiting - "Did you rob the bank"? . I replied "Oh, there was additional 5% discount on most of the items, so we had some savings, which can be used to buy more stuff".

Did I mention that I am a Finance major? This must make sense. :)

Wanderlust

Holiday, vacation, travel...... something we both enjoy doing. I like travelling "in style", while Eric's pretty much flexible...he's ok both ways.

Our last trip in February, was a weekend in Bangkok where we spent time with Pam and Richie + ate a lot of good thai food, shopped a little for Caitlyn and tailored Eric's Tux and shirts.

Feels like its time for a sunny beach vacation at a boutique 5* Resort which doesn't have too many guests. (Eric, I have bolded this for your benefit).

Bali's easy to get to and has quite a few of those boutique resorts. From my quick research, and also viewing my friend's James' recent pictures at "The Bale", here's my shortlist of resorts in Bali that would be nice to check out.

1) Bvlgari

Blending the traditional Balinese style with contemporary Italian design, the Bulgari Resort in Bali is located near the village of Pecatu and the stunning clifftop site of the Pura Luhur Uluwatu Temple, on the island’s far southwestern tip. Uniquely positioned at more than 150 metres above the sea shore, the resort offers unrivalled views across the Indian Ocean. Nestled between the cliff and the ocean, a 1.5 kilometer long beach is accessible only through the resort’s inclined elevator.

2) The Bale

The BalĂ© is a serene, luxurious retreat whose every purpose is to help you relax and re−energise... in style. We have just 29 immaculately designed pavilions, each with a sleek modern interior and refreshingly simple garden, blissful daybeds inside and out, and its own private swimming pool.

Our ‘no children’ policy allows a couple to really be a couple, and spend every moment reconnecting with each other.

3) Spa Village

Inspired by the award-winning Spa Village Pangkor Laut, the new Spa Village Resort Tembok Bali embraces the same healing ethos of celebrating the local culture, honouring the ancient remedies of the region and infusing each visit with the essence of the surrounding scenery.

While we await and look forward to the arrival of Baby Caitlyn, Mummy's also looking forward to her post-baby Bali vacation!

Saturday's Treats

1) Fruit Smoothie ; Breakfast
2) Popcorn ; Snack
3) Pudding ; Dessert / Tea-time

Dr. Monty Li - my OB-GYN will probably be shaking his head in disapproval of my diet, especially since I have gained quite a bit of weight. The fruit smoothie might pass, since it's really quite healthy.
Ingredients for berry smoothie : Berries (local produce has a chinese name - can't remember), fresh milk & honey.
Measurements : Use your own discretion ; after putting all ingredients together, blend it and you get a wholesome yummy purple smoothie.
"Pop-smiled" : After eating a tub of yummilicious popcorn, one smiles....that's how I interpret it.

It's the name of the popcorn store that sells a variety of popcorn in "San Chong" - outside of Taipei City.

Anyhow, it's amazing how people actually know about the popcorn store even though it's in the suburbs and not in a fancy location. There's always someone buying popcorn at the store and they often run out of their most popular flavors.

Our favorite is the American Caramel Milk Flavored Popcorn. It has this caramel milky aroma with lots of crunchiness and tastes really good. Very different from your usual expensive cinema popcorn.

In one sitting, I can easily pop-smile my way through 1/2 a tub of that sinful snack. A whole tub wouldn't be a problem too, just that I thought I save some for Eric.

This is evidence.....
Before:
20 minutes later:

Last, we polish the day's treats off with a caramel pudding from "Bonjour".

Bonjour is located in Taipei city and they sell really good dessert.

I think we consumed enough sweets to warrant sweet dreams tonight! :)
