You've Got Mail!

June 2nd, 2009 : Caitlyn receives her first piece of snail mail - addressed to Baby Caitlyn. It was a lovely card and a pretty little dress from Aunty Eunice in Singapore.

All these cartons of stuff....are also for Caitlyn - her mattress, stroller, car seat, bedding.....

Daddy spent some time checking out the stuff that we got for Caitlyn....and here's his favorite nice bright green car seat!

Since we have most of the stuff ready, we are just waiting for her to pop...39 weeks and counting....

Making cents or sense?

Yesterday, we went for my regular check-up and Dr. Monty Li mentioned that 70% of babies are delivered between 37 weeks - 40 weeks, with the remaining 30% of babies opting for a late check-out.

As of May 8th, I was 35 weeks and 1 day pregnant which means it's possible that Caitlyn might decide to pop early before her 11th June EDD which could be anytime from 2 weeks onwards. That's soon! Also, check-ups will now be weekly now that it's close to the due date.

I decided to go on a buying spree after the doctor's appointment yesterday. Armed with my excel spreadsheet of items to buy, I went to the baby store and got most of the essentials. Comments from the husband who was patiently waiting - "Did you rob the bank"? . I replied "Oh, there was additional 5% discount on most of the items, so we had some savings, which can be used to buy more stuff".

Did I mention that I am a Finance major? This must make sense. :)

Making Space

It would be nice to have an empty room to store all the things that we hardly use, yet take up space in our closets or around the house. That would be the room of white elephants! Lovely!

About 2 weeks ago, I went on a mission to clear up a section of the wardrobe for Caitlyn. And here's how much space we made for her stuff in the guestroom.

The stuff that i cleared out from the wardrobe, are now in bags on the floor in the guestroom.

Haven't got down to finding space for those things. I need my white elephant room!
